At SmartBolig.net we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

2. What information do we collect?

2.1 Information you provide

Email address (if you sign up for the newsletter)

2.2 Automatically collected information

IP address (anonymized in Google Analytics; Cloudflare and advertising partners process the full IP address as part of operations and security)
Browser type and version
Operating system
Pages visited and time of visit
Referring website

2.3 AI assistant

When you actively send a question to SmartBolig AI, we process:

Your question and up to the 10 most recent messages in the current conversation
Your selected language (Danish or English)
Your IP address through Cloudflare rate limiting to reduce abuse and unexpected AI costs

The question is processed by Cloudflare Workers AI. The assistant may also search SmartBolig.net’s public content through Cloudflare AI Search when a relevant guide can improve the answer. AI Search is a supplementary source tool; general questions can be answered without this search.

SmartBolig.net does not create a user account or server-side conversation history for the chat. The latest conversation is stored only in the browser’s sessionStorage, allowing it to survive a reload in the same tab session. You can delete it with New chat, and it is normally cleared when the tab session ends. Do not enter passwords, API keys, tokens, private keys or sensitive personal data in the chat.

3. Why do we collect data?

We collect data to:

Improve our website and content
Analyze traffic and user behavior
Show relevant ads
Respond to inquiries
Provide and protect the AI assistant you actively choose to use

Legal basis: Analytical and marketing cookies are only used with your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Operating and securing the website, responding to inquiries, and providing and protecting the user-activated AI assistant are based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies for:

Necessary cookies: Ensure the website works correctly
Analytical cookies: Google Analytics for traffic analysis
Marketing cookies: To show relevant ads via Google AdSense and Ezoic

You can manage your cookie preferences via our cookie banner or on our cookie policy page.

We only share data with:

Google Analytics - Traffic analysis
Google AdSense - Advertising
Ezoic - Advertising and optimization
Cloudflare - Hosting, security, CDN, Workers AI and AI Search

Processing by these providers is governed by data processing agreements, and transfers to the US rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU’s standard contractual clauses.

Cloudflare states in its Workers AI data usage documentation that customer inputs and outputs are not used to train the available AI models or improve Cloudflare or third-party services without explicit consent. Cloudflare’s current terms and privacy policy apply to its processing.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

Erasure: Have your data deleted
Restriction: Limit the processing of your data
Objection: Object to processing
Data portability: Receive a copy of your data

7. Data security

We protect your data with:

SSL/TLS encryption
Secure hosting via Cloudflare
Regular security updates

8. Data retention

We keep data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose, or as required by law. Anonymized analytics data in Google Analytics is retained for up to 14 months.

SmartBolig.net does not write chat questions or AI answers to its own database or application logs. The local browser copy follows the tab session as described in section 2.3. Cloudflare processes chat content and operational metadata under its current product terms and policies; deleting browser sessionStorage therefore does not guarantee a specific deletion time in Cloudflare’s systems.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced on the website.

11. Affiliate links and recommendations

SmartBolig.net participates in affiliate programs, which means we may receive commission when you buy products via links on our site.
